RULES AND REGULATIONS

Made under section of "The Women and Girls' Protection Ordinance, 1890,” by His Excellency The Governor in Council for the Management of the Asylum under Part II of "The Women and Girls' Protection Ordinance, 1890,"

1. The Asylum established in this Colony shall be the place of safety in which the Registrar General may order any woman or girl to be detained under the provisions of the Ordinance.

2. The Committee of the Society known as "Po Leung Kuk" shall have the charge of the management of such Asylum.

3. No woman or girl shall leave the Asylum in which she is detained except under the written order of the Registrar General, or unless she is accompanied by the Matron.

4. No woman or girl detained in the Asylum shall behave in a disorderly or noisy manner.

5. Every woman or girl detained in the Asylum shall obey all lawful orders and commands of the Matron, and shall perform such work as may reasonably be required of her by the Matron acting under the general instructions of the Committee of the Po Leung Kuk.

6. The Committee of the Po Leung Kuk may delegate such of their powers of management as the Governor shall from time to time approve to a Committee of ladies to be nominated by the Governor for that purpose.
